During the natural cycle of water, It flows from  mountain tops down  into the oceans, Humans capture and divert a lot of the water for agriculture, industrial and municipal use. Apart from river water is also drawn from ground by way of Borewell.

After the water is used, it is returned to the environment in a different condition, usually as dirty water (wastewater). 


Depending on where you live, 
·         Dirty water can be drained into gutters for treatment into common  treatment plant or

·         you have to install a treatment plant for recycling into gardening, toilet flushing or reuse  in industrial  process or discharge to river as per law of local authorities.

It is never returned in the same way that it was withdrawn.
